NGB CORPORATION VISITS KENFOX TO EXPLORE STRATEGIC COOPERATION IN PATENT PROTECTION AND IP ENFORCEMENT
On June 8, 2026, KENFOX IP & Law Office had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Hiroyoshi Teraoka, Representative of NGB Corporation’s Thailand Office, for an official visit and working session in Hanoi. The meeting provided an excellent opportunity for both parties to exchange insights on patent prosecution, intellectual property (IP) protection and enforcement, and potential avenues for strategic collaboration to support Japanese businesses seeking effective IP protection in Vietnam.
NGB Corporation – Nearly Seven Decades of Excellence in Intellectual Property Services
During the meeting, Mr. Hiroyoshi Teraoka introduced NGB Corporation, one of Japan’s leading intellectual property service providers. Established in 1959, NGB has developed a distinguished reputation over nearly 70 years of operation, building an extensive global network of IP professionals, patent attorneys, law firms, and intellectual property organizations.
According to Mr. Hiroyoshi Teraoka, NGB offers a comprehensive range of intellectual property services, with a particular focus on assisting clients in securing patent protection worldwide through its affiliated companies and international partners. Each year, NGB’s clients file a substantial number of patent applications across multiple jurisdictions, reflecting the growing importance of global IP protection strategies for Japanese innovators and technology-driven enterprises.
KENFOX Shares Extensive Experience in Intellectual Property Protection and Enforcement
Representing KENFOX, Mr. Nguyen Vu Quan, IP Attorney and Managing Director, shared the firm’s extensive experience in intellectual property prosecution, protection, and enforcement in Vietnam.
Mr. Quan highlighted KENFOX’s track record in assisting multinational corporations, including globally recognized enterprises, with patent, trademark, and industrial design protection, as well as the enforcement of intellectual property rights against infringement. Drawing upon more than two decades of practical experience, KENFOX has successfully supported rights holders through investigations, evidence collection, administrative enforcement actions, dispute resolution proceedings, and other enforcement mechanisms available under Vietnamese law.
The discussion also featured remarks from Ms. Hoang Thi Tuyet Hong, Head of Trademark and Copyright Practice at KENFOX. Ms. Hong shared her experience participating in an international IP attorney training program in 2015, attended by representatives from Malaysia, Thailand, and several other countries in the region. The program was organized with the support of the Japan Patent Office (JPO) and the Intellectual Property High Court of Japan, providing participants with valuable insights into regional intellectual property systems and best practices in IP protection and enforcement.
Building a Foundation for Strategic Collaboration
Mr. Hiroyoshi Teraoka expressed his strong appreciation for KENFOX’s professional expertise, practical experience, and deep understanding of Vietnam’s intellectual property landscape. He was particularly impressed by the firm’s service quality, responsiveness, and capability in handling complex IP matters for international clients.
He remarked that he regretted not having become acquainted with KENFOX earlier and regarded the firm as one of the most capable intellectual property practices he had encountered in Vietnam.
Looking ahead, Mr. Hiroyoshi Teraoka expressed his hope that additional NGB colleagues would have the opportunity to visit and engage with KENFOX in the near future. He noted that closer interaction between the two organizations could serve as a catalyst for establishing a long-term strategic partnership.
Both parties acknowledged that combining NGB’s extensive international client network with KENFOX’s proven expertise in intellectual property prosecution and enforcement would create significant value for Japanese businesses seeking to secure, protect, and enforce their intellectual property rights in Vietnam.
The meeting concluded in a productive and cordial atmosphere, laying the groundwork for future cooperation between NGB Corporation and KENFOX and opening new opportunities to support Japanese enterprises in navigating Vietnam’s increasingly dynamic and strategically important market.
