Mrs. Nguyen Thi DAO

Nguyen Thi DAO has close to 15 years’ experience as a trademark practitioner and specialist with KENFOX. She manages substantial trademark portfolios for clients in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and China and works closely with a network of international contacts that the firm has developed.

DAO handles trademark matters in a variety of industries including the automotive, alcohol, tobacco, fashion and food and beverage industries. She has advised companies in relation to adoption and protection of their brands and also on the growth and sustainability of their trademarks. DAO’s practice areas include drafting trademark applications, trademark infringement opinions, trademark prosecution, oppositions and rectification petitions. DAO also presents application, opposition, assignment and rectification cases at hearings before the IP Office o Vietnam and Ministry of Science & Technology of Vietnam. Her experience also includes recordal of trademarks with the Customs Authority and giving opinions on copyright infringement. DAO also has experience of handling domain name disputes and has counseled client related to such issues before the Vietnam Internet Network Information Centre (VNNIC).

  • Conducted trademark clearance and trademark portfolio maintenance for global materials, fast food, financial services, technology and beer products companies
  • Represented luxury brands in trademark infringement actions against operators of websites that sell counterfeit goods.
  • Represented media production house in negotiation of talent and licensing agreements and registered trademarks and copyrights related to launch of web-based comedy series.
