Monolith Law Office (Japan) and KENFOX strengthen international legal cooperation

Success or failure in providing legal services in foreign markets heavily depends on choosing the right partner. For companies aiming to expand their reach and serve their customers in foreign markets, finding and partnering with a local partner is not only a strategic move but also is the deciding factor for their success or failure in that market. In a legal environment like Vietnam, where regulations are becoming increasingly diverse, changing and complex, the cost of services is no longer considered a top priority. The most important thing for international businesses is not the number of offices or personnel that a local partner has or owns, but rather the expertise, practical experience, credibility and reputation of the lawyer or legal team they choose to work with. Clearly, this requires a local partner that not only understands the law, but also has the ability to apply that knowledge flexibly and creatively to meet the complex needs of international clients.

Today, 07 March 2024, Monolith Law Office, a reputable legal service company from Japan, engaged in an official exchange with our company, KENFOX IP & Law Office, via a Zoom online meeting. They expressed a desire to expand cooperation with KENFOX on addressing legal issues in Vietnam. This initiative follows Monolith Law Office’s request for in-depth advice on establishing branches of Japanese businesses in Vietnam and resolving legal challenges on food import and export, in an email that Monolith Law Office sent to KENFOX seeking consultation in June 2023. This is an important stepping stone, opening the door for close and long-term cooperation between the two parties and affirming the commitment of both parties to providing comprehensive and effective legal solutions for businesses.

Participating in the meeting were Mr. Sergio Elias Wilson, Mr. Lucas Slobodticov from Monolith Law Office Company and Mr. Quan, Director of Intellectual Property (IP) and Ms. Hong, senior collaborator of KENFOX in Vietnam. The meeting via the online application Zoom lasted 40 minutes. Although short, it was very valuable for both sides to learn about each other. Many different questions about legal issues that Japanese customers are concerned about in Vietnam were asked and we shared with each other the strengths of the two companies. Both sides expressed interest in learning and sharing experiences on a number of cross-border legal issues.

Representing KENFOX, Mr. Quan and Ms. Hong, proudly introduced KENFOX’s capabilities in the fields of business consulting, investment and intellectual property. With 20 years of experience in the field of IP, Mr. Quan highlighted that KENFOX has been consulting for many foreign businesses, from small and medium-sized companies to multinational companies. Sharing with KENFOX, Mr. Sergio Elias Wilson said he is a lawyer licensed to operate in three states: California, Washington, D.C. and Oregon. Mr. Lucas Slobodticov is a lawyer from Brazil. Monolith Law Office currently has 17 lawyers and 74 employees, and has been managing and advising more than 900 clients in areas such as Cross Border transactions, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Corporate law (General Corporate), Investment, Information Technology (IT), Personal Information.

Mr. Quan proudly shared that, in his 20 years of working in the field of IP, he has participated in handling many disputes for major Japanese brands such as Bridgestone, Nikon, Nikko, Cateye, Hochiki, and Kumon.

Mr. Sergio Elias Wilson, Mr. Lucas Slobodticov and Mr. Quan and Ms. Hong agreed to continue efforts to build a strategic cooperative relationship between the two sides. KENFOX and Monolith will regularly exchange legal issues in Japan and Vietnam to update, support and advise Japanese businesses on their business journey towards legal safety and success in Vietnam.
