KENFOX Shares Practical Insights on Vietnam’s Trademark Protection at Seminar Hosted by Wuxi Administration for Market Regulation
As an increasing number of Chinese enterprises expand their investments into Vietnam, a thorough understanding of Vietnam’s trademark protection system has become a critical factor in building and safeguarding brands in one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing markets.
At the invitation of the Wuxi Administration for Market Regulation (WAMR), Mr. Nguyễn Vũ Quân, Director of KENFOX IP & Law Office, delivered a keynote presentation entitled “Vietnam’s Evolving Trademark Landscape: New Regulations, Enforcement Trends, and Strategic Pitfalls to Avoid for Chinese Entities.”
Held in a hybrid format, the seminar brought together government officials, legal professionals, business representatives, and intellectual property service providers from across China who are actively involved in supporting Chinese companies investing in Vietnam.
During his presentation, Mr. Quân provided an overview of the latest developments in Vietnam’s trademark legal framework and examined emerging enforcement trends through a series of real-world cases handled by KENFOX. One of the key topics discussed was the legal risk arising from the inconsistent use of registered trademarks. Through practical examples, he demonstrated how seemingly minor modifications to a registered logo—such as changes in color, typography, layout, or overall design—may significantly weaken trademark protection and undermine enforcement efforts in infringement disputes.
In addition to analyzing common legal risks, Mr. Quân shared practical recommendations for Chinese businesses entering the Vietnamese market. His presentation covered strategic trademark filing, portfolio management, maintaining consistent use of registered marks, and implementing proactive measures to monitor and address trademark infringement at an early stage.
The invitation from the Wuxi Administration for Market Regulation reflects the growing recognition of KENFOX IP & Law Office’s practical expertise in cross-border intellectual property protection. It also provided an excellent opportunity for KENFOX to share its hands-on experience and support international businesses in developing effective IP protection strategies for investing and operating in Vietnam.
